CHICKEN POT PIE RECIPE

The best comfort meal. Best comfort. Best meal. Alright, just the best. period.


PLEASE take this recipe and make it your own! Add your favorite seasonings, vegetables, pie crust & such!! Cooking's supposed to be a good time :)

Sidenote: If I've ever made this dish for you, I truly do love you. Hahaha

Chicken Pot Pie

  • 2-3 Cups cooked chicken

  • 1 Cup onion, chopped

  • 2-3 medium potatoes

  • 2 Cups mixed vegetables (fresh or frozen)

  • 1/2 Cup milk

  • 1 Cup chicken broth

  • 1/2 Cup butter

  • 1/3 Cup flour

  • salt & pepper

  • garlic cloves, minced

  • fresh thyme, chopped

  • 1 full pie crust, unbaked

  • 1 TBSP heavy cream or half & half


Here's The How-To:

Mix up the pie crust. Cook the chicken and set aside.


  1. Preheat oven to 375*

  2. Chop onion, vegetables, potatoes, and mince garlic.

  3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter and saute onions and garlic. Add the potatoes and cook until tender, add in vegetables. Once cooked, add in spices and flour. Cook for a couple minutes and then add in the milk, broth and cooked chicken. simmer for a good10 mins for the filling to thicken.

  4. Transfer filling to a 9x13 casserole dish.

  5. Role out pie crust, cover filling, brush on heavy cream and top with more spices/salt/pepper.

  6. Bake for 25 - 30 mins, or until there's a glorious golden crust color :)

  7. Let cool for about 10 mins before serving.

  8. Pairs well with a salad and breadsticks, or just as a meal itself!
